Elopement Wedding Celebration at Nobu Malibu and Leo Carrillo Beach

Katrina and Brian had originally planned for an untraditional wedding dinner celebration at Cafe Birdie in Highland Park. They planned to rent the restaurant to enjoy a meal together with their closest family and friends, and during the meal have an impromptu ceremony where they got married! However, as the planning went underway, they opted instead to have an elopement!

Still keeping with the restaurant theme, Brian and Katrina rented one of the ocean front suites on site at Nobu Malibu. Nobu Malibu is a renowned Japanese restaurant located in Malibu, California, known for its upscale atmosphere and stunning ocean views. Katrina got ready with her mother, best friend, and best friend’s husband in the suit while Brian got ready in their Highland Park home. The both got dressed in one-of-a-kind bridal style: A pink, puff sleeved Selkie gown and a green plaid two piece suit. I would be hard pressed to pick which one was my favorite of the two! The couple shared a first look before quickly heading to Leo Carrillo beach for their elopement ceremony.

It was a bit of a darker day, and while it didn’t rain, there was a heavy mist in the air. It gave the appeal that the beach felt like it wasn’t in Southern California but more the Pacific Northwest! Brian and Katrina found a spot amongst the beach cliffs to hold hands surrounded by their immediate family and most close friends. The bride’s best friend performed the wedding ceremony while the groom’s best friend Facetime’d in those who couldn’t be there in person to watch the celebration. They read their own vows, exchanged rings, kissed, and cheered!

After some post-wedding flurries and group photos, everyone made their way back to their car to commemorate the wedding with an exceptional dinner back at Nobu Malibu.
