Garden Wedding at Skirball Cultural Center

Alyssa and Michael's wedding at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles was a joyful celebration of love and tradition. Nestled in the scenic hills, Skirball Cultural Center’s unique blend of architectural elegance and lush surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for their colorful, garden-inspired vision. The couple's wedding embodied a fusion of classic elements and vibrant, modern design. Known for its timeless appeal and cultural depth, Skirball offered a refined, spacious venue with a touch of contemporary flair, perfectly suited to the blend of editorial and lighthearted documentary style I love to photograph at weddings.

The ceremony itself was a traditional Jewish one, enriched with elaborate floral accents that set a serene and magical atmosphere. Under a breathtaking chuppah cascading in blooms, skillfully designed by Gabi from Pilar Floral, the couple exchanged vows in front of friends and family. Alyssa and Michael’s processional was both incredibly joyful and tearful as their parent’s each walked them down the aisle, welcomed them together in the middle, and completed the seven circles together in front of the chuppah.

The setup, awash in wildflower-inspired colors, extended throughout the venue, tying in perfectly with their whimsical garden party aesthetic. The bridal party was a vision in mismatched dresses, each bringing out a unique splash of color to the vibrant celebration. Chabeli from PS Weddings curated every detail with a keen eye for style, blending bold florals with Alyssa and Michael's playful energy to create an event as radiant as the couple themselves.

As the sun set over Los Angeles, the couple stepped into their most anticipated moment: the disco-themed after-party, held in the very spot they had just said “I do.” Transformed into an exciting, eye-catching, personal club, the space was adorned with a floating mirrorball, hot pink lighting that illuminated the floral displays, and a custom club sign marking the evening’s festivities. The groom’s best man carried the club sign into the event leading all the guests to the new dance floor under the floating mirrorball. For a fun personal touch, Michael surprised guests by changing into a T-shirt he wore in his first-ever photo with Alyssa, emblazoned with the phrase "I love Jewish girls." Alyssa also changed into a modern mini dress for her second look to dance the night away! This Skirball Cultural Center wedding was so beautiful and special. Congrats to Alyssa and Michael and a special thank you to the vendor team who made their vision come to life!
