Sands Hotel and Spa Disco Wedding with Colorful Dress Code
If any wedding were to take the cake for the best dressed guests, it would have to be this one. Set against the pink walls with vines or orange bougainvillea and black and white stripped cabanas, this wedding in Palm Springs at the Sands Hotel and Spa was a sea of shades of bright pink, orange, and green.
Sands Hotel and Spa is a boutique resort located near Palm Springs in Indian Wells. With its charming decor, mosaic tiles, pink color palette, and trendy restaurant illuminated by lanterns and disco balls, it is no surprise that this stunning destination resort is a sought after spot for wedding celebrations in the high desert of California. The hotel marries the classic Palm Springs style you’d expect, but with a twist. Instead of pink bougainveliia vines, it has pink walls and orange bougainveliia. Where The Parker Hotel has classic pale yellow and white striped pool accents and umbrellas, Sands Hotel does the very modern black and white stripes.
Joanna and Michael utilized the hotel for the weekend for their all white welcome party and rehearsal dinner, their wedding day celebration and tea ceremony, and their day after casual hangs by the pool. Despite having an all-white welcome party, the wedding day was full of color! From their florals, to their candles and vases, all the way down t the brides hand made wedding dress, color was everywhere you looked.
One of my favorite moments from the wedding day was the dane floor and reception. With multiple disco balls and lights, there was a shimmer display of lights sparkling the crowd at all times, making an already colorful day that much more festive.
Palm Springs is one of my favorite close by destinations for weddings and wedding weekends. The clear skies, the tall palm trees, the bright blue pools, the mountains on the horizon, and the mid century charm that is complimented by eclectic character that is met in a special way at each property cannot be beat. Palm Springs is a perfect wedding destination for those looking for a unique weekend wedding experience while still staying somewhat local to southern California.
SOME OF MY OTHER FAVORITE PALM SPRINGS VENUES:
The Parker - The Parker is a luxury hotel known for its privacy, charm, and amenities. The grounds consist of beautiful private gardens with multiple on-site villas. The Parker is perfect for couples looking for a luxury wedding experience that feels tailored to them.
Fredrick Loewe Estate - This California Inspired glass mid-century estate with sprawling lawns is perfect for an upscale backyard wedding style event. The Fredrick Loewe Estate is perfect for couples looking for a more personal and private approach to their wedding day while still seeping with classic Palm Springs style!
Twin Palms Sinatra House - The Frank Sinatra House was of course, the home originally built for and lived in by Frank Sinatra. One of the key features of this mid-century home is the piano shaped pool and breezeway tunnels that create piano key shadows in the pool water in the early hours of the day. Its much smaller than Fredrick Loewe while still maintaining similar style, so it would be better for a more intimate gathering.
O’Donnell House - The O’Donnell House is a one of a kind property for Palm Springs, because unlike everywhere else, this well known historical home is in Spanish Revival style. This property sits at one of the highest points in Palm Springs, offering panoramic views of the desert landscape!
Ace Hotel Palm Springs - The Ace Hotel in Palm Springs is a lovely spot for a wedding for the guest who wants to party all night and enjoy the pool! Similar to Sands Hotel, The Ace Hotel offers many pools, cabanas, restaurants, and disco balls a plenty!!
