Yosemite National Park Engagement Session
Meadows at the Valley Floor and Cliffsides at Taft Point with Two Newley Engaged Sweethearts
At the beginning of August I had a sweet, sweet wedding in my hometown of Fresno, California, and as a rule, anytime I pass through my hometown I also try to pass through Yosemite. As luck would have it my previous Yosemite couple, Cassidy and Nate, had a newly engaged sibling looking for some engagement photos! After spending the entire day visiting favorite spots around the park, I rendezvoused to meet up with these two sweet individuals.
Chelsea and Jamin got engaged in Yosemite and wanted to take their engagement photos in the same place! Meeting them was such a treat as they truly are some of the cutest and most thoughtful humans on the planet. They came prepared with a thank you basket filled with sparkling lemonade, coffee gift cards, and kettle corn: talk about sweet!
We headed into the park together (get your entrance permit if you’re visiting in 2020!) and trekked to a little known meadow where I had been hammocking earlier that day. We made sure to get a few shots on the valley floor to mark the elevation where Jamin had proposed! They wandered the tall grass hand in hand, nestling in for stolen kisses and tender moments that made for the sweetest of photos.
Soon after we headed for my favorite sunset spot at Taft Point where Chelsea slipped into her new HBgoodie dress for some cliffside pictures with a breathtaking view of El Capitan. As we waited for the sun to begin its descent, Chelsea and Jamin cuddled close on a rock near the edge where Jamin’s proposal spot was perfectly visible, basking in the golden glow of the afternoon sunlight.
Soon the sunset was in full bloom and Chelsea and Jamin took advantage: twirling, kissing, and basking in the dreamy light as it slipped slowly behind the mountains on the other side of the valley. When the moon began to take its place, these lovebirds wandered out onto the iconic silhouetted cliffside one last time for a dip, a kiss, and a celebratory arms up in the air cheer! From the first moment in the swaying grass to the final, stunning kiss backdropped against the breathtaking evening sky, this shoot was nothing short of a dream.
