Sunrise Engagement Session at Griffith Observatory

Classic and Timeless Engagement Photos at the Iconic Griffith’s Observatory in Los Angeles

If you were to marry the movie La La Land with an engagement session - this would be it.

Wanting to take advantage of some of the more iconic Los Angeles and Hollywood architecture and landmarks, Kelli and Lorenzo loved the idea of taking their engagement photos at Griffith’s Observatory - LA’s very own “gateway to the cosmos.” Griffith’s Observatory is not only stunning and historic landmark from 1935, but also an operational planetarium that was built and still holds the intention of being an observatory open to the public. The Art Deco architecture style of Griffith’s Observatory lends itself to a timeless aesthetic that feels both romantic and nostalgic for the classical time period when it was designed and constructed.

In order to avoid the crowds of visitors that enjoy the observatory on a daily basis, Kelli and Lorenzo planned their engagement session for a morning sunrise! We were able to take advantage of the observatory and all of its outdoor areas with minimal to no crowds, giving us the feeling that we were entirely alone to enjoy the morning at the iconic landmark. In fact, some of the only other companions we had at the observatory during our time there were live painters who had set up their easels to paint the sunrise over the Los Angeles horizon and the Angeles Crest mountains.

Kelli and Lorenzo watched the sunrise, explored the corridors, and took a stroll by the lookout spot where you can view the Hollywood Sign too! It was such a lovely morning spent exploring another Southern California spot for an incredible engagement session!
