Cinematic Engagement Photos in Sand Dunes at Sunset in Morro Bay

Sandy Dunes, Golden Sunsets, Ocean Splashes, and a Violet Sunset Sky

I have had the ridiculous pleasure of taking photographs for Kailyn and Eric three times now. First, their engagement photos in the Central Valley where they met and fell in love; Second, on their wedding day as they eloped with their family and friends to the coast in Montana de Oro State Park just outside Morro Bay, California; Third, on this day after a year and a half of marriage, back at the same coast where they tied the knot.

At a place so special to all of us, we giggled and walked through the sandy dunes off the beach of Morro Bay and explored the footpaths between the tall grasses as the sun turned the air from a warm clear blue, to a vibrant and hazy golden yellow. Kailyn and Eric danced, embraced, hugged, and fell over into the sand as the sun set on the day.

As the sun fell below the horizon, Kailyn and Eric ran for the coast line! The both of them started by playing in the surf before Eric asked Kailyn if she wanted to go all the way in. And with that, we all shed the layers we could and ran waist deep into the waves. Splashing in the water, piggy back rides, and dips between each curling wave became the energy as all the light left turned violet before it turned a deep blue. Kailyn and Eric had one last kiss by the iconic Morro Bay Smoke Stacks before heading to our cars to change into drier clothes.
