Grass Room Marvimon Productions DTLA Modern and Tropical Intimate Wedding Celebration
Jing and Andrea enjoyed a beautiful 45 person intimate wedding at Marvimon Productions greenhouse venue, Grass Room, the twin sister of their other venue, Valentine. Marvimon Productions is known for transforming urban spaces and locations into ideal event venues, imbued with the natural industrial elements and the addition of copious amounts of greenery and artistic flair. Their event spaces include the Marvimon House, SmogShoppe, and The Ruby Street. Each venue offers a distinctive atmosphere and aesthetic, ranging from a 1920s-inspired mansion to a converted 1980s auto body shop. The Marvimon Productions venues are some of my favorite in the Los Angeles area not only for their highly curated aesthetic vibes, but also for their mission to sustainability by including many eco friendly features.
The eclectic nature of the Grass Room was not lost, as the large sliding doors were painted a subtle pink, the Italian mid century leather and chrome chairs seat guests at the reception, and wall paper and textures adorn each hallway, wall, room, and bathroom stall on site.
Jing and Andrea remarked, that even though they were having a May wedding, one of the reasons they loved the Grass Room was that it has the greenhouse glass ceiling, so no matter the weather, their wedding would go on exactly as planned. And sure enough, in a bizarre twist of fate, it DID rain on their wedding day, but the drizzling weather never interfered with how they got to enjoy their day!
Although the Grass Room has enough of it’s own character to create a memorable atmosphere, Jing and Andrea put their own individual style onto the space by introducing modern elements, like black and golds to the individual seating displays of the reception space as well as table-scaping florals of single gold painted orchids, leaving more room for many wine glasses to be filled at their dinner later in the evening. They also introduced many classic white orchids, not only for Jing’s beautiful bridal bouquet but also for their ceremony arch and pillars at the end of their aisle way. Orchids, birds of paradise, and palm leaves all made an appearance to bring the tropics inside the greenhouse of their special day.
Jing and Andrea had a sweet and special day surrounded by friends and family, as they became husband and wife. Many of Andrea’s friends and family from Italy even flew over for the special occasion, making it all the more special! Jing and Andrea got to spend their whole cocktail hour and reception with their family and friends, interacting and getting to say hello to everyone who came for their celebration. As a fun extra event, once everyone had enjoyed dinner, Jing and Andrea played a fun “Guess Who” game! They gave each table a white board and pen and asked questions, having their guests answer whether they thought the bride or groom was the answer to each question. Everyone had a very fun time!
Jing changed into a new, black gown for the reception, that was certainly easier to dance in as the dance floor opened! They danced and danced, only to be interrupted by the cake cutting of their fabulous edible flower cake! It was such a beautiful and special day to be surrounded by such wonderful individuals in such a gorgeous space!
