Summer Daytime Wedding at the Historical McCormick Home Ranch
Rustic Architecture, Foliage Galore, Golden Plates and Golden Coastal Stars, Celebrating the Love of Highschool Sweethearts
Nestled in the beautiful hills of Camarillo, just west of Los Angeles in Ventura County, the Historical McCormick Home Ranch played host to a gorgeous wedding between Melissa and Kevin. The venue is situated on a 60-acre ranch that dates back to the early 1900s. Serendipity was on the couple’s side, as their wedding took place on a summer’s day in August, allowing for daylight to shine from the first look to the reception. It was a seamless day from start to finish, and made possible through the coordination of Becky McCormick, part of McCormick Home Ranch’s event planning partner Red Door Events, Inc.
Upon arrival, Melissa and Kevin made their way up the gravel road for their first look, where Kevin got to finally see Melissa in her stunning dress, complete with makeup by Glam with Tamryn and hair by Andrea Villa. Afterwards, the highschool sweethearts exchanged private vows with one another. The moment made for some candid photos and emotion, as both of their wedding dreams had come true to life. After the heartfelt vows, they had some time before the ceremony to take in the chic and rustic design of the McCormick Home Ranch. The doorways and windows of the home were framed by long vines and verdure, the ideal spot to capture magical moments straight out of a wedding editorial. In fact, the all-outdoor venue provided plenty of greenery and foliage to create the perfect backdrop to Melissa and Kevin’s ceremony.
The ceremony itself was short and sweet, with a friend providing a brief storytelling of their love under a beautiful wooden archway, rays of sunny Los Angeles beaming down onto the bride and groom. You couldn’t help but smile. After the ceremony, guests made their way to the shade of the back patio for cocktail hour, where they enjoyed wine, drinks, and appetizers. Kevin and Melissa welcomed and mingled amongst guests, with Melissa holding a dazzling bouquet provided by The Growing Co.
The reception was held on the front lawn as sunlight peeked behind the trees on the property. Delightful golden plates adorned each table, and each guest received a stylized dinner tag to commemorate Melissa and Kevin. They indulged in delicious catering provided by Seasons Catering CA. Speeches commenced and the storytelling continued, but altogether were brief, as Melissa and Kevin were ready to hit the dance floor. The Golden Coast All Stars provided the entertainment for the evening and made sure that the dance floor was never left empty. Candid smiles and laughs emanated in the sunset of McCormick Home Ranch. Melissa and Kevin only took a brief dance break to cut into their cake, part of a decadent dessert display from Sugar Lab Bakeshop. Once the cake was cut, it was back to their family and friends as they danced the night away, or in this case, danced into Golden Hour. Cheers to the newlyweds!
