Leo Carrillo Malibu Beach Engagement Photos

Two Texas Sweethearts, Blue Hour Sunset Light, Aqua Waters, and their Adorable Labrador named Remi

Near the end of July, while Ashley and Jeff were visiting family in Southern California and doing some prep work for their wedding later this year at the breathtaking Hummingbird Nest Ranch, we were able to meet up on the coast in Malibu and capture their engagement photos! Knowing that the two of them wanted to include their dog in some photos, I recommended my favorite dog friendly beach in Malibu for us to meet at for their photos!

Ashley and Jeff brought their parents along to their shoot to hold Remi in between moments, and it was such a sweet experience getting to know this beautiful bride’s family better before their big day and how highly they thought of their daughter and her fiancé! Also it was especially sweet to hear her mom say in between photos how sweet they looked together - mom was the ultimate hype woman!!

We explored the cliff-sides of Leo Carrillo and Malibu in between the high tides of summer, walking along the rock-sides and stopping to capture kisses here and there. The water was especially blue, almost a clear aqua hue, making for the most beautiful color. Since almost all their photos were just after the sun had set over the Malibu coastline mountains, we could really admire the beautiful blue colors all around, from the sky to the way down to the water.

Since Ashley and Jeff were traveling with their dog, they were able to bring their sweet puppy fluff, a brown Labrador named Remi, short for Remington, with them to their photos! Remi got to have her own moment in the spotlight at the end of the shoot after running through the waves and getting out her zoomies, and the three of them posed for some group photos together which was so sweet! I love when couples are able to include their fur-babies in their photos!

I cannot wait for your wedding later this fall - congrats Ashley and Jeff!!
